What is there to say about Alex that people don't already know? Well I suppose I will have to take you back 8 years to when Alex was just a child. As you might expect whenever a 12 year old is hanging out with a bunch of 14-18 year old kids skating you will tend to be hyperactive, Alex was no exception to the rule. One snowy day in Kansas, we decided to cruise around and look for trouble. Bingo! Grocery store….electric shopping cart destruction. So Alex and Nathan Simpson proceed to take the two electric carts and cruise around the aisles knocking items off of the shelf. A few encounters with superhero parents and the management was notified. The store manager came to reclaim the carts stating that, "I heard you were racing through the aisles." Alex claimed he needed the cart for medical purposes because he had a bad back from skating and refused to relinquish control of the cart. When the store manager, a woman, tried to take the key he slapped her hand and proceeded to shake violently in the cart to make it inch forward. It was at this time I realized I was dealing with a child who had the attitude and skill to take this sport into the next century. Alex, I salute you for never backing down from anything, be it a challenge in skating or an over-glorified supermarket employee.
