When you look at the new Remz HR1.1, it has a noticeably different look from the Chris Haffey 2.0 skate. The HR1 has an all black toe cap like the Haffey, but it also has the all black upper for a really sleek look. The name HR 1.1 stands for "High Resilience" because of the all new materials that they're using that were specially designed for the Remedyz skate. The new materials were put in place to keep the soft boot skate strong from day one for as long as you skate it. Remz wanted to fix the problem that a lot of soft boot skates have of getting loose and losing support over time. The HR materials are non-stretch and stronger than ever to prevent this. The HR1.1 upper has a really unique texture to it that almost feels like a basketball.

The stock setup out of the box is the full Remz cuff, non v-cut. The cuff is perforated though so if you choose to ride the skates v-cut, the modification will be simple. If you want your skates v-cut, the liner is also modified. Simply remove the v-cut patch in the back that is attached with snaps and Velcro and you have a v-cut skate. The Velcro straps that came on all previous Remz aggressive skates are not on the skates by default. The Velcro straps come in the box so you can easily add those at any time if you want more support. For the maximum in flex, you can also remove the cuffs altogether and ride your Remz without cuffs.

The following are some of the other features that aren't new for the HR1.1 but carry over from previous Remz models:

Liners: The liners that come in the HR 1 are the newest quick-release Remz liners. If you've ever tried removing an older Remz liner you know how difficult it can be to get in and out of the skate. The quick-release liners are great because you don't have to feed the straps though the liner to get it back in place in the boot. This also reduced bulk in the liner making the whole boot slimmer and more responsive to your foot. The new liner also has anatomic foam cuts throughout to reduce pressure points on your foot. The toe part of the liner is constructed with neoprene so it's extremely comfortable and it has that lightweight sock fit.

Soul Plates: The Remz HR1.1 aggressive skates come with the 1 piece soul plates. These souls are the perfect size for locking on soul tricks and negative tricks. They come with the angled edge in the heel that Remz is known for. The angled edge in the heel part of the soul plate reduces the surface area on soul tricks making everything slide faster. The Remz one piece soul frames also have a lip on the positive side of the souls that helps protect the side of the boot. Another great feature of the souls is that they're one solid piece so they keep the bottom of the boot strong. The one piece souls won't put additional stress on your frames.

Frames: The Ground Control Featherlite 2 frames come stock on the HR1.1. But don't think of these as your typical stock frames. These are one of GC's most popular frames of all time. They come with 42mm GC anti-rocker wheels in the middle so you can lock onto anything. The design of the frame is extremely strong while being lighter than every other frame out there. The weight of the frame was reduced by eliminating all unnecessary materials. The cut out section of the frame not only keeps it light but it also reduces surface area for an extremely fast grind. The FLT2 also has beveled edges on the bottom of the frame. The Featherlite2 is topped off with sickle bolts that only require one skate tool to take off.

Wheels: Remz 57mm 88a

Bearings: Abec 5
