Soul Plates
One of the biggest improvements to the Remz skate has been the addition of the one piece soul plate. The one piece soul plate is larger than the older style souls which makes locking on easier. They also made the souls larger without taking away the angled edge that Remz is known for. The angled edge in the heel reduces surface area making soul tricks faster. The one piece souls also have a lip that covers the outside of the boot which protects it better when doing cess slides. The bottom of the Remz skate is made more rigid with the one piece souls compared to the older style. This stronger plate on the bottom of the boot prevents stress fractures putting less stress on your frames.

Frames
The 08two's come stock with the Ground Control Formula 1 Flat frames. They are setup with GC's 42mm nylon anti-rocker wheels in the middle. The frame uses all 8mm hardware for durability. The bolts are the patented GC sickle design on the outside which adds a nice touch to the frames. The asymmetrical bolts also serve a purpose, they allow you to take off your wheels with only one skate tool. Also once your bolts are worn down on the soul side from topside and soul tricks, you don't need to try and put an allen wrench in the soul side of the bolt. The stock frame is grey with the white flat h-block. These frames can be skated either anti-rocker or flat with four wheels down. Freestyle h-blocks are also sold separately to ride the frames freestyle.
Materials and Patterns
For the 08two's, Remz updated the look of the skate with new patterns and materials. Remz took their classic skate design and rethought the leather cuts and patterns with the help of Chris Haffey. The upper is perforated for an athletic look. The overall look of the skate has also been modified for a cleaner look.

Ankle Support
The classic Remz ankle support is back. You have three different options riding this skate. For the most support, you can ride the cuffs stock without the v-cut in the cuff. Next, you can cut the v-cut in the cuffs and get full extension when jumping. This gives you the support of a cuff and buckle combo, but also gives you a noticeable boost jumping up to high rails and ledges. Finally, you can take the cuffs out of the skates altogether for the most flexibility, thus the name Freedom of Feet.
