Northern Colorado Comp Results

By Justin Warren:
The turn out was insane! Around 100 people, doubling our turn out from last year! We had some great spots including some great skating! We were fortunate to have the likes of Spira and Aragon hit this up as well! Along with some other big name locals! It was fun.

Just to re-cap on the event itself, we had three spots. We had some ledges where some ill shiz went down. You could do some nice lines and get some good skating on. Then off to the rails! Imagine a group of 100 people outside your store front window. What a scene. We thought that the shop would be closed. But to our surprise, a lady came out and told us that we could skate as long as we didn’t smash the flowers. So with pure talent the skaters would fall and gracefully lunge themselves over the flowers so we wouldn’t get in trouble! Pure acrobatics! We decided to move to a different rail just down the road so we wouldn’t destroy the flowers and oddly enough, that sweet lady called the cops on us! BOOTED, we were off to the next spot.
This spot was interesting. We put some wood down over a 3 set so we could ramp up to the rail. The thing is, none of us are great ramp builders! The ramp had a lot of spring and would just about flip people up to the rails! Oh well, we weren’t there for too long before a Cop showed up and kicked us out. This was a funny story. Picture a group of 8-10 rollerbladers, at least this is all you can see as you approach the scene of the crime. As you get closer and can see around the corner, you see you are out numbered. This was what happened to this police officer. He just stood there not knowing really what to do. He had gotten out of his car to tell us to get out. He didn’t even say a word. Just stood there dumbfounded. We all left making him sweat a little as the massive group passed by. HAHA!
We took our numbers down to a local park that had some angled iron ledges and had a BBQ to celebrate there! We did a product toss, making sure that those who deserved prizes had their pick first.

Every one had a great time. Lots of love to those that helped and those that showed up to the event.

Vicious Abec 5 Bearings

Here is the preview shot of the new Vicious Abec 5 bearings coming out. They are going to sell for $16 and they’ll also be available as a custom option so you’ll be able to put them on whatever custom skate you want. This is a good bearing to get because you’re getting the quality Vicious name but it costs a little less than the Abec 7’s. If you’ve seen the new ONE magazine then you probably also saw the ad for the new Vicious video in the works. They have a massive lineup of many of the top pros so you can bet they’re going to have the best footage to pick through.
