Having Brian Aragon ride for eRolling for the past two years, we've watched as he and the entire Razors team have perfected the highly anticipated Aragon 2's. With over three years spent in research and design, the Razors Aragon 2's are here. No skate in our history has spent as much time being poked, prodded, and tweaked to reflect the rider's style. Going through countless prototypes and testing with the best pro's in the world, Razors has unveiled the Aragon 2 - SuperLight.
Soul Plates
The new skate uses a two piece slider system on the outside of the boot. The inside of the boot has a flat, one piece soul frame. The two piece slider souls on the outside combined with the backslide plate hold the soul frame onto the bottom of the boot. You can take off the slider pieces without taking off your frames. This makes replacing parts faster and easier than in the past. The souls are also cheaper than before. They come in Red, Black, and White so you can switch up your setup.
Baseless Technology
One of the most innovative features on the Aragon 2's is the Baseless Technology used on the boot. On a typical skate, you have two separate layers of plastic under your feet, the bottom of the boot and the soul plates. Why have two layers cover the same area when you only need one? The unnecessary material in the bottom of the boot has been removed to reduce weight and for a better feel on grinds. The soul frame covers the bottom of the boot.
Backslide Plate
The new Aragon 2 backslide plates have been improved in a number of ways over the last Razors models. The backslide plate is held tight to the boot by the sliders on the souls. The backslide plate is now secured to the boot with two t-nut screws instead of one like in previous models. The backslide plate is also bigger to better protect the boot. The groove is lined up perfectly with the groove on your frame so you have a good groove out of the box. In a really creative way, you can actually take off the backslide plates and do boot tricks actually on the boot. This gets you way closer to the boot and you can lean your foot over more on all boot tricks. Between these two options, you can find a style that works best for the way you skate.
New Cuff
Razors has also improved their cuff. For Aragon's new skate, they added a slot on the side of the cuff for the extra buckle strap to go into. This way you don't have to worry about breaking off the inside part of your buckle when missing tricks.
Liners
Inside the liner is a full-length shock absorber. The heel pad is huge and it slopes down to cover the full length of the liner. This is way more comfortable than a regular insole and provides better protection on gaps and landings. The liner also has a neoprene gasket that wraps around your leg for comfort and support. The liners incorporate a speed lacing system with a holder for the pull tab. The new liner features a 1 year warranty on manufacturer defects.
Frames
The Razors Aragon 2 skates come stock with Ground Control's Featherlite frames. The big advantage to these frames is right in the name, they are the lightest frames available. They have a good size split for riding anti-rocker or flat. The groove on the frame lines up perfectly with the Aragon 2 backslide plates, making boot tricks easier. Comes with all 8mm hardware.
